Hence the goal of our association is to augment the skills and develop the human resources working in this important area of diagnosis. For this purpose, we had organized two CMEs in the last two years at Mumbai. However, it is felt that this initiative should be taken further to various locations in the country, whereby our members working in hinterland, away from metros, would get an opportunity to participate in such training programs and benefit from this initiative.
With this view, we are organized a CME entitled “ A Journey from HE to IHC ” at Indira Gandhi Government Medical College (IGGMC) at Nagpur with the support of Department of Pathology and Vice Dean,(IGMC).
In addition to the routine processes, the Histotechnologists must embrace the techniques of Immunohistochemistry (IHC) as it is an indispensible tool for diagnosis in everyday practice. With this purpose in mind, the CME and hands on IHC workshop was designed to cover the basic concepts and methods in IHC. All the aspects of the IHC techniques, from troubleshooting, standardization, validation of antibodies and quality control were covered in this CME.
